If you've been considering running an online auction for your charity, but you've been held back by the high cost and hassle of using commercial online auction services, the Online Charity Auction Handbook is for you!
An online auction can bring in more money for your non-profit. But online auction software can be expensive.
Did you know you can run an online auction absolutely free using WordPress blogging software?
You don't need to pay hundreds of dollars in startup fees, plus a percentage of your profits.
The Online Charity Auction Handbook will show you exactly how to do this, step-by-step. But it's a lot more than just a guide to setting up a site in WordPress.

Orcas Montessori School recently ran an online auction along with our regular silent and live auctions. A significant chunk of our income from the night came from online. If we'd used a commercial online auctions service, many hundreds of dollars would have disappeared into fees.
...is to set up WordPress so that each auction item is a blog post, and visitors can place bids by making comments on the items that interest them.
It's so simple.
Of course, that's just the mechanics. There's a lot more to it, as we learned the hard way in the auction that just closed.
You see, there are two distinct parts of running an online charity auction.
The first is getting things set up right so you can display your items and accept bids.
The second is getting people to show up at the online auction and actually place bids.
The first is wasted effort without the second.
And wasted effort means money left on the table. In fact, I'd estimate that had we done a few things better (changes requiring less than 4 hours of work on the part of our volunteers) we could have brought in an extra $2,000 to $4,000.
I sure wish we'd had a copy of this handbook... :)
In a sentence, the handbook will help you bring more money into your organization.
We think it'll make a big difference in the bottom line of your next auction, and it'll make the process a whole lot easier for the people organizing the auction.
It's going to get you from thinking that an online auction would be a good idea to acting on that idea.
We're not sure yet. It depends how much actionable, take-it-to-the-bank information we can jam in.
But whatever it ends up being, by signing up on the advance discount list, you'll get it for significantly less than the list price.
You can have your organization buy it, or, if you're involved in planning an auction, you can just grab a copy for yourself. I know for my part that I'd rather spend my volunteer time effectively, not chasing my tail. I'd certainly pay $35 to make my time more valuable, and to bring in more money to organizations I care about.
Also, just so you know, the handbook is a fundraiser for the Orcas Montessori School, which serves children ages 3 to 6 on Orcas Island, Washington. Proceeds from your purchase will go to support general operating expenses, scholarship programs (half of our kids get some form of assistance), and our fledgling endowment.
There's no commitment in signing up. And of course we'll treat your personal information with the utmost care (no selling, renting, spamming, etc.)
